The development goal of this department is to cultivate information management professionals who can adapt to environmental changes and meet the needs of enterprises. In today’s highly competitive industrial environment, organizational competitiveness largely depends on an enterprise’s ability to effectively apply information technologies.

image Educational Objectives of the Master’s Program

The Master’s program emphasizes the cultivation of fundamental research capabilities, enabling students to identify opportunities and challenges in the application of business intelligence and informatization within organizations, and to develop practical competencies in building information technology–based solutions. The curriculum focuses on training graduate students to understand the business applications of artificial intelligence and information technologies in enterprises. Furthermore, students are encouraged to effectively apply acquired technologies and validated theories to develop capabilities in digital transformation and business management innovation. The program aims to assist enterprises in enhancing value chain efficiency and creating competitive advantages, while cultivating mid- to senior-level information management professionals who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in artificial intelligence and business applications.

In response to the rapid advancement of information technology and the constantly changing business environment, the department emphasizes an equal balance between theory and practice. Students are trained to develop information systems and to integrate information technology with information management, with the goal of cultivating mid- to senior-level information management professionals with both theoretical and practical competencies. The teaching objectives are as follows:

  1. Following a progression from “generalist” to “specialist,” students are equipped not only with information-related technologies and management knowledge, but also with diverse professional competencies.

  2. To establish integrated knowledge and skills across disciplines, in alignment with the development, application, and integration of information technologies, thereby cultivating well-rounded professionals.

  3. To emphasize the integration of theory and practice, strengthening students’ abilities in case study research and analysis of information systems.

  4. To place importance on training in foreign languages, business management practices, and interpersonal skills.

  5. To cultivate students’ literacy in the humanities, social sciences, and the arts.

The program prioritizes the learning of fundamental management knowledge and basic information technologies, while offering students a diverse selection of courses to explore their future career directions. Emphasis is placed on hands-on practice, enabling students to become proficient in software design and operation, as well as to develop capabilities in information system analysis and implementation. The goal is to cultivate entry- to mid-level information management professionals.

Leveraging the university’s strong foundation in business education, the department designs its curriculum based on business knowledge and fully integrates information technology with management science. “Business Intelligence” and “Business Informatization” are developed as the department’s key, combined with capstone projects to strengthen students’ integrative skills and practical experience. The department’s students have achieved first place in national intercollegiate information competitions for consecutive years, serving as strong evidence of educational excellence. In addition, the department encourages students to obtain professional certifications through incentive programs, thereby enhancing their competitiveness. As a result, graduates of the department possess proficient capabilities in business knowledge as well as in the management and application of information technologies.
